Kapamilya Stars – Star Ng Pasko Lyrics & Video

Kapamilya Stars – Star Ng Pasko Lyrics
Kung kailan pinakamadilim
Ang mga tala ay mas nagniningning
Gaano man kakapal ang ulap
Sa likod nito ay may liwanag

Ang liwanag na ito
Nasa 'ting lahat
May sinag ang bawat pusong bukas
Sa init ng mga yakap
Maghihilom ang lahat ng sugat

Ang nagsindi nitong ilaw
Walang iba kundi ikaw
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko

Tayo ang ilaw sa madilim na daan
Pagkakapit bisig lalong higpitan
Dumaan man sa malakas na alon
Lahat tayo'y makakaahon

Ang liwanag na ito
Nasa 'ting lahat
May sinag ang bawat pusong bukas
Sa init ng mga yakap
Maghihilom ang lahat ng sugat

Ang nagsindi nitong ilaw
Walang iba kundi ikaw
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko

Kikislap ang pag-asa
Kahit kanino man

Dahil ikaw Bro, dahil ikaw Bro
Dahil ikaw Bro
Ang star ng pasko

Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko

Ang nagsindi nitong ilaw
Walang iba kundi ikaw
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko

Ang nagsindi nitong ilaw
Walang iba kundi ikaw
Salamat sa liwanag mo
Muling magkakakulay ang pasko

Ang nagsindi nitong ilaw

10 Things I Wish Everyone Knew about Mary, Mother of Jesus

1. We know more about Mary than we do about almost everyone in the New Testament besides Jesus, Peter, Paul, and John.

Think about it: we know her husband, Joseph; we know Mary’s relatives, Zechariah and Elizabeth; we know a song she sang called Magnificat; we know she traveled from Galilee to the hill country and from Galilee to Bethlehem; we know she and Joseph dedicated their baby boy Jesus in the temple; we know they visited the temple with Jesus when he was twelve; we know she at least considered Jesus capable of rectifying a lack of wine at a wedding in Cana; we know she walked from Nazareth down to Capernaum with her children in tow to visit with Jesus; we know she was at the crucifixion of Jesus in Jerusalem; we know she was with the first Christians in Jerusalem in Acts 1; we know at least one of her sons — James — became a major church leader; it is likely that she became central to the cosmic story of redemption (Revelation 12).

2. Many Protestants know far more about what they don’t believe about Mary than what the Bible teaches about her.

As one Christian woman once said to me about Mary, “She’s so Catholic.” But Protestants think their views are based on the Bible, and on that basis alone (see #1), they ought to develop a positive view of Mary. Mary can be seen as a paradigmatic person of discipleship and faith — the first true follower of Jesus.

3. The Mary of the Gospels is a woman full of courage, hope, and strategy.

The Mary of the Gospels is a woman marked by chutzpah, not reserved piety. She is hardly the pious, poker-faced Mary of too much of Western Christian art. Her song — The Magnificat — is a beautiful mosaic of dozens of Old Testament expressions designed to announce that God has acted to bring Israel its Messiah. She pressed Jesus to provide wine when the wine ran low at a wedding. She — not Joseph — was the one who approached Jesus when he was left behind at the temple, and she was the one who seemed to reprimand him. Mary and her children seemingly took charge of the situation and went from Nazareth to Capernaum because of what was being reported about Jesus — and that scene appears to be one where Mary wants to protect Jesus from getting himself in trouble with the leaders.

4. The Immaculate Conception does not refer to Mary’s sexual condition when she gave birth to Jesus (the “virgin birth”).

The Immaculate Conception is a belief about Mary’s own condition at her conception. That is, she was “immaculated” by an act of God at the time she was conceived so she would be sinless and therefore the “fitting” mother of the Son of God. The virginal conception refers to the belief that Mary became pregnant with Jesus by a miracle instead of sexual intercourse.

5. Protestants think Catholics overdo it with Mary. Catholics and the Orthodox think Protestants have ignored Mary. Both are right.

Catholics don’t believe Mary is divine, but some Catholics emphasize her in ways that many Protestants think borders on taking glory from the Son of God. Protestants say they base their beliefs on the Bible, while Catholics base their beliefs both on the Bible and in the developing tradition as directed by the official tradition in the Roman Catholic Church. But all Christians need to spend time learning what each of us really believes — and this will mean we need to avoid stereotypes of what the other believes about Mary.

6. Mary’s sinlessness and virginity are the key areas of conflict.

Catholic tradition teaches that Mary was sinless. Protestants believe only Jesus was sinless. Catholic tradition teaches that Mary was perpetually virgin; most Protestants believe Mary had children with Joseph in the normal manner.
The sinlessness of Mary cannot be found in the Bible and is a matter of church tradition. The perpetual virginity of Mary is at least challenged by Matthew’s Gospel, which tells us that Joseph “had no marital relations with her until she had borne a son” (1:25).

7. The New Testament Letter of James is an echo of Mary’s concern for economic justice.

Perhaps the most famous lines in the Letter of James are these: “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to care for orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world” (James 1:27). One has to wonder — if it is true that James is the brother of Jesus, and thus Mary’s son — if these words express a bitter reality James knew: his mother and his siblings all knew poverty and came to believe that genuine religion means taking care of people like them.

8. Some Catholic tradition emphasizes Mary as a “mediatrix” — the Church’s finest intercessor for prayer.

This language makes many Protestants nervous, but it needs to be understood for what the Church has taught. It’s not that her intercessory role infringes upon Christ’s role; instead, just as Protestants ask others to pray for them as intercessors, so the Catholic tradition teaches that Mary — in the communion of saints who are praying for those on earth — is an intercessor. One can at least observe that Mary attempted to be a mediator between Jesus and those who had run out of wine at the wedding in Cana in John 2:1-11.

9. The Mary moments in the New Testament point to Jesus.

Mary’s song, Mary’s encounter with Jesus in the temple, Mary’s intervention at the wedding . . . all the way to Mary at the cross and Mary with the earliest believers in Jerusalem — these scenes lead us to Jesus each and every time. Mary ought not to rob Jesus of his glory, for the mission of Mary in her own life was to witness to the glory of her Son.

10. Mary belongs to the whole Church.

Both Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox have developed theologies about Mary (sometimes called “Mariology”), while Protestants have developed no distinct vision of Mary. There has been some progress among some Protestants, but not enough to shape most Christians in the pews. Protestants need to spend more time contemplating Mary in their Bibles.

How Are You Growing?

How Are You Growing?

Gathering Knowledge Is Great But Developing Character Is Essential

Don't just grow in knowledge, grow in character. God is more interested in your character than He is in your career. Why? Because success without character can hurt you and those around you.

The Bible says: '...make every effort to respond to God's promises. Supplement your faith with a generous provision of moral excellence, moral excellence with knowledge, knowledge with self-control, self-control with endurance, endurance with godliness, godliness with brotherly
affection, and brotherly affection with love for everyone.'

The more you grow like this, the more productive and useful you will be. It's impossible to feel confident when you're telling yourself that you'll never amount to anything.

After Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they hid. God came to them and said, "Where are you?" They said, "We're hiding because we're naked." I love how God answered..."Who told you...you were naked?" In other words, "Who told you there was something wrong with you?"

God immediately knew the enemy had been talking to them. And God's saying to you today, "Who told you ... that you're not attractive enough to succeed in your relationships...or talented enough to flourish in your career...or that your marriage isn't going to last?" Those are lies from the enemy.

God said, "...No good thing will He withhold from those who walk uprightly. Delight yourself...in the Lord, and He shall give you the desires of your heart."

The potential is inside you...and it doesn't change because you don't believe it.

The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable. He's never going to take back the potential He poured into you...or say, "You've failed too often and made too many mistakes. Give me my gifts back." No...His calling on your life will be with you till the day you leave this earth, but it's up to you to...tap into it.

When the enemy starts chipping away at your confidence, take authority over him in Jesus' name; resist him and he will flee. Never stop developing your talents. Paul told Timothy, '...Stir up the gift...which is within you.'

Some people have the notion that following your spiritual gift is spending the days and years of your life doing only those things that come naturally, easily, with no effort, discipline or practice. No, your gift can either be mediocre or excellent; it's up to you.

If we don't change, we won't grow; and then we're not really living. Growth demands the temporary surrender of security. It means giving up familiar but limiting patterns, safe but unrewarding work, values no longer believed in, relationships that have lost meaning.

Taking a new step is what we fear most, but can you think of anything worse than a life devoid of growth?

Jacob and Prodigal Son

Jacob and Prodigal Son
Epilogue of Jacob’s Story

Luke 15:11-32

1.    Jacob
During August, I have preached on the Jacob’s Story as an example of our spiritual journey. When I was in a middle school, one teacher said that “life is Waltz.” As you know, Waltz is music of three bits.
He said, “as Waltz has three bits, our life story has 3 stages.”

Here are the 3 stages in the Jacob’s story: hometown, foreign land and coming back home.

At his home, Jacob was like a child. Everything was sufficient and provided.
He was favored by his mom and protected by his father. But once he left his home, he faced reality. He struggled to survive in a foreign land. He worked hard, had his own family and became more responsible. On the way back home, he had a near death crisis but it became a chance to meet God.
When Jacob came back home, Jacob was not the same person as when he had left home 20 years before. He came back as a successful and matured person.

Jacob’s story is not an uncommon story. It is one of several life styles.
There are many Jacobs in this world. They left their parents’ home, built up their successful career and had own family, and came back to their hometowns.
The main emphasis of Jacob’s story is at Bethel and Jobbok river. The story emphasizes that we need to begin our journey with God, and come back with God. As we build our successful career, we also have to build up our relationship with God.
As a surgeon, when Mary Neal built up her career, she recognized that career was not everything. She needed some space for God in her life so that God actually intervened to protect her in the case of crisis. She went to heaven and came back home because she made a space for God in her life.
Jacob was blessed by God, because he made a space for God in his life.
Brothers and sisters!
Invite God into your life. Set a time aside for God, and pray and listen to His voice. Remember Wednesday 9am to pray for the church, church members and also for me. We need each other’s prayers.

2.    Prodigal Son
Now, here is another version of Jacob’s story in the New Testament. He is called a prodigal son. Prodigal son is one of the most famous bible stories. When youth groups have a summer retreat, they always play a skit with the prodigal son. The storyline is pretty simple as Jacob’s: hometown, foreign land, and coming back home.

There are two sons. Guess, who is leaving home?
It is the second son, because he does not have a birthright. So he asked his father for his portion. Since his father was still alive his request for his portion was disrespectful to his father. But his father was generous and gave him his portion, and the second son left home.
In the foreign land, he spent all of his money in entertainment and with prostitutes. He became homeless. He fed pigs for his living and even ate pig’s food to satisfy his hunger. Then, he thought that it must be better to be a servant at his father’s house rather than being hungry in a foreign land.
He came back home, asked his father for forgiveness and took him as a servant. His father was so glad that he came back alive that he gave him new clothes, restored his state as a son and offered a banquet. It is a happy ending.
While Jacob came back as a successful man, the prodigal son came back as a looser. Jacob was responsible, but the prodigal son was irresponsible.
But after leaving home and spending time in a foreign land, they each learned the something. They needed God. Jacob asked God father for protection and blessing at the Jobbok river and the prodigal son asked his father for forgiveness.

We may succeed in our life as Jacob or we may fail our life as the prodigal son, but the most important thing is that we should recognize God in our life.
Henri Nouwen, a famous priest, said “I am the prodigal son every time I search for unconditional love where it cannot be found.”
Like the prodigal son, we all want unconditional love where we can be accepted as who we are. But the place is not in a foreign land, but it is at our father’s house.

When the prodigal son lived with his father, he didn’t recognize his father’s love. They just lived together. When he left home and experienced pain, loneliness, hunger and anxiety, he learned how important his father was to him.
And when he came back home, he was forgiven and accepted by his father.

Even though the prodigal son made many mistakes, and wasted all his money, at least he learned something from his mistakes. So when he came back home, he could have a much better relationship with His Father.

We all make mistakes at some points in our lives. But we are Christians, who learn from our mistakes and grow from the learning. God does not punish us because we made mistakes, but God really worries about us when we do not learn anything from our mistakes.
When we learn from our mistakes, when we return to God, we are forgiven and we will have a new life again.
3.    A Hidden Character
As we read, verse 11-24 is about the prodigal son’s story, and it concludes with a happy ending for the second son. But this is not the end of the whole story. There is a hidden character, the first son. His story is in verse 25-32.

The first son came back from his work in the field and found that there was a banquet for the second son. His younger brother wasted all of his portions, but his father forgave him, accepted him and threw a feast for him. He got upset and complained to his father.

We kind of understand the feeling of the first son. He always stayed with his father and worked for him while the second son spent all his money with prostitutes. The first son complained that his father never held a banquet for him with his friends but he does for the second son. It seems his claim is legitimate.
But we also know that there is no love in his heart. The first son definitely cared more for his portion rather than for his younger brother.

When the second son wasted all of his money and came back home, his father accepted him, but it does not mean that he will have another portion again. Since he received his portion, there would be no more inheritance from his father. But the emphasis in the story is about relationship. The second son was forgiven and accepted by his father.

In the beginning of the story, the first son might want to leave his home instead of the second son. But he could not. He was the first son. He would inherit his father’s estate. If he left his father, he had to give up his birthright. He didn’t have a choice but stayed home, was obedient to his father and waited until he would inherit all of his father’s estate.
Therefore, the first son’s relationship with his father was superficial. The relationship was not developed. Where there is no crisis, a relationship does not develop. Then, a crisis came when the second son came back. The first son worried if the second son took his father’s estate again. When he felt his portion was threatened, he began complaining to his father.
He expressed his jealousy and anger to his father. He might not be thoughtful or matured. But at least he became honest to his father about his feeling. Father came to him and said, “Oh! My son! You are always with me, and all I have is yours. But your brother was dead and is alive again. Isn’t it right to celebrate his life?”(vv.31-32)

As you can see this picture, the father and the second son are reconciled. And now, the father asks his first son to join the celebration. The story ends here and we do not know how the first son responded. It is an open end story.

I was born in a Christian family and attended the church service all the time in my life. I was always in the church with God, but I did not feel God closely.
Then, when I saw new members coming to church and experienced God’s grace I became jealous. I was always with God, but I had never experienced such grace. I was not happy about it until I became a pastor.
When I became a pastor I could understand our heavenly father, and I realized that the true first son is not the one who inherits father’s estate but is the one who inherits our father’s heart.

Brothers and Sisters!

The Kingdom of God is for those who understand heavenly Father’s heart, and inherit His compassion.

This Pastor Has Guts

THIS PASTOR HAS GUTS

This interesting prayer was given in Kansas, USA, at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas Senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says: "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done.

* We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

* We have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and called it Pluralism.

* We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism.

* We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle.

* We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

* We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

* We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

* We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

* We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem.

* We have abused power and called it politics.

* We have embezzled public funds and called it essential expenses.

* We have insitutionalised bribery and called it sweets of office.

* We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of expression.

* We have ridiculed the time-honored values
of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.

Search us, Oh GOD, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free. Aamen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the prayer in protest.

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively. The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

With the LORD'S help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and WHOLEHEARTEDLY become our desire so that we again can be called "ONE NATION UNDER GOD."

Think about this: If you forward this prayer to everyone on your list, in less than 30 days it would be heard by the world. How many people on your list will not receive this prayer.....do you have the boldness to pass it on?

I HAVE, AND I HAVE JUST SHOWN IT BY FORWARDING THIS TO YOU. GO ON  FORWARD IT!!!

Remain Grateful No Matter

A King had a male servant who in all situations and circumstances would always tell him ‘my king, do not be discouraged because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes’.
Remain Grateful No Matter The Situation
One day, they went hunting and a wild animal attacked the king, the servant managed to kill the animal but couldn't prevent his majesty from losing a finger.
Remain Grateful No Matter The Situation
Furious and without showing gratitude, the King yelled at him and questioned God’s goodness towards him.
The servant replied; despite all these things, I can only tell you that ‘God is good and everything He does is perfect; He is never wrong’.
Remain Grateful No Matter The Situation
Outraged by the response, the king ordered that the servant be arrested and locked up.
Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who use humans for sacrifice.
In the altar, the savages found out that the king didn't have complete finger set; he was released because he was considered "not fit to be offered to their gods".
Remain Grateful No Matter The Situation
On his return to the palace, he ordered that the servant be released. When the servant resumed his duty, the king said; my friend, God was really good to me. I was almost killed but for lack of a single finger I was let go.
But I have a question; If God is so good, why did He allow me to put you in jail? The servant replied and said ‘My king, if I had gone with you, I would have been sacrificed because I have no missing fingers.  You see, everything God does is perfect, He is never wrong’.

Often we complain about life, and the negative things that happen to us, forgetting that nothing is random, and that everything has a purpose. God knows why he chose you to receive this message today, please bless someone with it by sharing it. Everything happens for a reason, but God wields his power over all of them.
In all situations and circumstances of life, appreciate God both for the good and the bad. Comment and share if you acknowledge that Good is Great!

Cheers!

Prayers For Strength

Give Me Strength, Lord
Lord, you are Holy above all others, and all of the strength that I need is in your hands.
I am not asking, Lord, that you take this trial away. Instead, I simply ask that Your will be done in my life. Whatever that means, that is what I want.
But I admit that it's hard, Lord.
Sometimes I feel like I can’t go on. The pain and the fear are too much for me, and I know that I don’t have the strength on my own to get through this.
I know that I can come to you, Jesus, and that you will hear my prayer. I know that it is not your intent to bring me to this point just to leave me in the wilderness alone.
Please, Lord, give me the strength that I need to face today. don't have to worry about tomorrow.
If you just give me the strength that I need today that is all I need.
Keep me from sinning during this trial. Instead, help me to keep my eyes on you. You are the Holy Lord, and all of my hope rests in you.
Thank you for hearing my prayer.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
.
For Strength and Wisdom

Thank you, Lord, for being there for me and allowing me to cry out to you in my times of need.
It is amazing to me that the Lord of the Universe would take time to listen to me and to care about what I say.
God, there are things happening around me right now that I do not understand. Some of these things make me feel weak, helpless and afraid.
Even in the midst of this, I know that you are the Lord.
I know that the situation is in Your hand, and I trust You.
I beseech you for strength and for wisdom that I would be able to endure this situation and be able to handle it in a way that would bring glory to Your name.
In Jesus name. Amen.

Prayer for Overcoming Life's Hardships
O Lord, we call upon You in our time of sorrow, That You give us the strength and will to bear our heavy burdens, until we can again feel the warmth and love of Your divine compassion. Be mindful of us and have mercy on us while we struggle to comprehend life's hardships.
Keep us ever in Your watch, til we can walk again with light hearts and renewed spirits.

Strength for a Friend
Lord, I come before you today knowing that all power is in Your hand. I know that you are the Lord and that you care for your people. Right now, my friend is struggling with a difficult trial. I can see her strength is faltering, Lord, and know that you have all of the strength that she needs.
I pray that you will reach down and touch her right now wherever she is at this moment. Let your presence fill the room where she is and let her feel an extra portion of your strength that can help her to get through this day.
She needs you now, Lord, and I thank you in advance for meeting her where she is and shoring up her strength during this difficult time.
In Jesus' name. Amen.

Prayers for Strength and Courage
Say these prayers when you're in need of strength and courage. Day to day troubles are no match for the power of the Lord.

To be Grateful
Lord God, may we be grateful for our lot, and compassionate toward all those who are suffering every kind of distress at this difficult time.
May we hold back nothing, and hasten to be the ministers of prayer and mercy, like the disciples of Him who went about doing good in times of need. Amen

Prayer for Guidance and Help
Dear Lord, I am calling upon you today for your divine guidance and help. I am in crisis and need a supporting hand to keep me on the right and just path.
My heart is troubled but I will strive to keep it set on you, as your infinite wisdom will show me the right way to a just and right resolution. Thank you for hearing my prayer and for staying by my side.
Amen!
